1984-2024 forty years of GANGs on the barricades. The solidarity card of Marino and Sandro Severini is the Forever Card #29, the brothers from the Marche in the unusual guise of cyclists.
It’s not a random choice:
. it is a tribute to Michele Scarponi who, like them, was a native of Filottrano. Michele is the protagonist of the solidarity sticker Celebrative Sticker #15 in collaboration and in support of the Foundation dedicated to him, which since his death in a road accident while he was busy training for the Giro d’Italia, has been committed to the prevention and protection of those who “tackle” the roads on two wheel
. it is in memory of the partisan relays who, covering kilometers and dangers, with their bicycles contributed to the liberation from Nazi-fascism
The musical and committed history of the Gang, their songs, have been and still are the soundtrack not only of all the charm of Italian folk and rock music, but also of how, through notes and words, awareness-raising initiatives can be carried out, solidarity and protection of historical memory, which our country absolutely needs, yesterday as today.
The race mentioned in the solidarity card really exists, its full name is the Gran Premio Caduti della Liberazione, it takes place every year since the end of the war around April 25th, organized by US Calcara. Sports club from the village of the same name on the outskirts of Bologna where Idro and Irnerio Cervellati were born. The cyclist brothers, to whom the solidarity Fumetto Card #35 with the splendid drawings by Mabel Morri was dedicated, were arrested together with their father Carlo because they had given food and accommodation to the partisan forces. Deported to the Gusen – Mauthausen concentration camp, they never returned.
40 years of Gang, which will be celebrated in 2024. The solidarity card anticipates the celebrations but there is no need for a precise time and place, the music and the stories that are told through the notes are valid every day of the year.
IN SUPPORT OF HISTORICAL MEMORY!
With this solidarity card it will be possible to support the Adotta Con La Figurina project where Figurine Forever annually engages in different solidarity projects and support for initiatives to keep the Historical Memory alive and current, in collaboration with ANED (National Association of Former Deportees in the Camps Nazis) and others, local and national, associations and institutions, who will want to share this cultural and social journey with Figurine Forever and The Gang.
