The collaboration between Figurine Forever and Amnesty International continues, with the aim of raising awareness, remembering and promoting the initiatives that the Human Rights organization carries out in Italy and in the world. In the style of the solidarity stickers, always using the immortal charm of the stickers, as immortal is the memory of Sahar Khodayari.
The Comic Card #32 is in memory of her, who became famous as the Blue Girl.
Sahar is a young woman full of life, a fan of Tehran’s Esteghlal FC. But the Iranian regime still doesn’t allow women to go to the stadium: to see her favorite team play, Sahar disguises herself as a man and tries to sneak into the Azadi stadium, but is discovered and arrested.
Sinful act, not having worn the hijab in a public place and offense to public officials: these are the heavy charges against him. At the first hearing she hears that the sentence could be from 6 months to 2 years in prison. Coming out of the courthouse, in a gesture of protest and desperation at the same time, Sahar decides to set herself on fire.
She will die a week later, on September 9, 2019, from the severe burns he sustained.
She will be remembered as Blue Girl, the girl in blue, like the color of the Esteghlal shirt. #bluegirl will go around the world. Following her case, pressure from FIFA led the Iranian regime to make some concessions on the presence of women in stadiums for international matches. The author of the splendid drawing, which takes up a famous photo of Blue Girl, is the young cartoonist Chiara Raimondi, recently appreciated at work with the comic biography of Rigoni Stern (Becco Giallo editions).
The solidarity card will be presented to the public, in a national preview, at the 10th edition of FIGUCON, on Sunday 15 January 2023, at Estragon Club Bologna. Chiara Raimondi will be present for the signing of copies of the solidarity card from 14.00 to 17.00
