Romagna forever! Some newspapers have already anticipated our initiative, not even a good piadina was filling the hunger to finally see this design. Finally here it is, unveiled the solidarity Comics Card # 25, dedicated to Secondo Casadei!
“But who, the one who wrote Romagna Mia?”, Yes, he himself. Even if speaking of Secondo limiting himself to just one musical work is really reductive, he was an incredible artist, bringing the folklore of Romagna music to be loved and appreciated in Italy and in the world, a path that, even now, is not at all finished.
More than a thousand recordings, an infinite discography like the dance evenings on the Riviera. The ability, unique more than rare, to know how to make his music universal. We collectors are well aware of feeling the “nostalgia of the past”, of historical albums, stickers, moments and emotions that can be repeated, but never in the same way.

The project was born from an idea of the MEI of Faenza and from the historical Edizioni Musicali Casadei Sonora, thinking that also to Secondo, to his world, to his Romagna, we could dedicate one of our solidarity Comic Card, a proposal that obviously we welcomed with enthusiasm.
We then set off (after all, Romagna is also the land of two-wheeled speed, isn’t it?) To look for a cartoonist who could fully grasp the essence of Secondo Casadei and transform it with a drawing into a figurine. The Piedmontese cartoonist Alessandra Rostagnotto was a precise choice and, after seeing the result, very happy to have contacted her and also that Alessandra made everything possible.

Just by reading her latest graphic novel “Discosogni” (Bao Editions, 2022), we thought that Alessandra, even if not “daughter of Romagna”, could be the right person. The story of Ambra and Giovanni, the two protagonists of his comic, is set on the Riviera, even if the Ligurian one, but it makes no difference; we are sure, thousands of times, even in Sanremo, they have listened to, sang, danced the most famous songs by Casadei. Secondo’s music certainly had no boundaries.
The solidarity card is a tribute to Casadei and to all of Romagna, often synonymous with sun, good food and lots of fun. Whenever possible, our Comics Cards have a sporting reference, which is why Secondo wears the football shirt that, in some way, wants to pay homage to the Romagna team that, no one wants it, has known the flavor of Serie A and also of the Cups European.
Those who know us know that we love details and that, when we can and can, nothing is given to chance. For this reason, the numbered edition is 206 copies, that 06 is not just accidental, it is a deliberate reference to the year of birth of Secondo Casadei, 1906.
