The marathon for rights never stops! When we thought of this solidarity card, the first idea was to write behind the “arrival” banner, then Franco himself pointed out that there is still a long way to go, there are still many races to be won and every time it is like starting again again, as if for each new hope we return to the departure. We are happy and proud to announce the Fumetto Card # 23 dedicated to Franco Grillini.
Franco Grillini deserves to be celebrated with a card, one of the founders of Arci Gay and of the LILA (Italian League for the Fight against Aids), among the first to bring PRIDE to our country, more generally an important point of reference for those who has at heart freedom and the protection of rights, for all, beyond, for example, sexual orientation.
Its history has been so intense that it has become a “Let’s Kiss” film that it is taking around Italy, loved by both the public and critics, recently winner of the Nastro d’Argento, one of the most important and significant awards in film field.
Figurine Forever is from Bologna and Franco Grillini is a beautiful symbol of our city, of his knowledge of being also democratic, pluralist, tolerant and often ahead of the times compared to the rest of the country. Franco, but also Marcella di Folco’s MIT (our other solidarity card, already sold out) and many other social realities that make us feel “pride” / proud to be its children.
We are equally happy to have involved one of the best cartoonists of the new Italian generation, Flavia Biondi, who has always been very sensitive to LGBT + issues, who has been able to tell with her splendid graphic novels, from “The Generation” to “The gossip” and many others books that we recommend you read. Thanks to Flavia who was able to create a drawing that perfectly expresses the idea with which our solidarity card was born.
FRANCO FOR IAM!
With the proceeds of this new card + postcard, it will be possible to support the activities of IAM – Intersectionalities and more Aps, about beautiful Bolognese realities. IAM is not only an LGBTI association but deals at 360 ° with intersectional identities, especially related to the issues of disability, migration, second generations and aging with a special attention to these topics in connection with sexual and gender minorities .
