It is with great emotion that we announce the 4th FanForever Card: Steve Lee, lead singer of Gotthard, 10 years after his death due to an accident while he was touring the USA on a motorcycle. Steve had a big heart and even if you don’t notice it in this photo, his smile and his will to live was contagious. As was his incredible voice, one of the greatest in the contemporary rock scene.
The initiative was made available thanks to collaboration of the family and Flavio Hochstrasser, a close friend and legal representative of Steve’s rights worldwide. Thanks also to Barbara Caserta, photographer and journalist, fundamental in the preparation of this small project.
Steve was passionate about football, we thought of making the sticker with the Swiss national team shirt because Gotthard is perhaps the band that most of all brought Switzerland to the world, Steve embodied this great country at best, he spoke English, Italian, French it’s German. The Gotthard band was founded in 1992, which is why we decided to take inspiration from the USA94 World Cup stickers.
The FanForever Card will be available from 5 October (10th anniversary of his death) and presented in world premiere at MEI (Meeting Etichette Indipendenti), Faenza, on 3 and 4 October 2020, where our Association will have its own space, thanks the invitation received by the organization.
Faenza and Romagna is not a random choice, the last Italian tour of the Gotthard with Steve Lee on vocals made a stop at the Vidia Club in Cesena. 11 years after that date (24 October 2009) is another way to remember an incredible concert, as Gotthard was and still is.
